Introducing the No. 2 Construction Battalion Exhibit

We are thrilled to offer an extraordinary opportunity to explore the story of the No. 2 Construction Battalion, an important chapter in Canadian and African Nova Scotian history. The African United Baptist Association (AUBA) with the financial support of the Department of Veterans Affairs is pleased to make this exhibit available to the community.

Through this exhibit, we honor the legacy of the No. 2 Construction Battalion, which holds a unique place as the first and only all-Black battalion to serve in World War I. Their courage, determination, and contributions to the war effort left an indelible mark on Canadian history.

As part of this exciting initiative, we are proud to present a new proposal for enhancing this exhibition with an augmented reality (AR) experience. This innovative project will breathe new life into the exhibit by offering immersive AR experiences for each image, helping to bring history to life in ways that are interactive and engaging.

The AR enhancement is designed for museums, historical societies, educators, students, and history enthusiasts. It will deepen the educational and interactive value of the exhibit, engaging audiences by animating historical images and providing deeper insights into the battalion’s stories. Each AR feature will be accompanied by high-quality prints and frames, ensuring that the exhibit meets the highest standards for presentation.

As we embark on this journey, we will be guided by the historical significance of the No. 2 Construction Battalion. This exhibit will focus on creating an experience that immerses viewers in the battalion’s rich history, highlighting their resilience and contributions.

This exhibit will help us convey the importance of the No. 2 Construction Battalion and leave a lasting impact on all who engage with this powerful exhibit.

This exhibit can be signed out from the AUBA and is available to be displayed in various settings. It offers an educational and immersive experience that will inspire and inform new generations about the vital role of the No. 2 Construction Battalion.
